Mid-Norfolk
Railway 2006 Autumn Diesel Gala A DVD which features video footage from the Mid-Norfolk Railway 2006 Autumn Diesel Gala, Chapter One begins at Dereham where we see Class 50 (50019) ‘Ramillies’ topped and tailed with Class 31 (31538) as they depart platform 3 with the first service train of the day. DRS Class 37 (37259) was the welcome guest locomotive for this years autumn event, undoubtedly (along with the fine weather) responsible for the high attendance figures. Some of the crew members traveled from as far- a-field as Carlisle. Understandably most of the sequences in this film features the star of the weekend 37259 which can be seen at various locations along the line. Chapter Two, “The Fish n’ Chip Special” is a short sequence showing friends and family along with volunteers and other passengers enjoying a round trip from Dereham to Wymondham behind 37259 with 31538 at the rear. The return trip saw the two run in tandem with 37259 piloting 31538. Approximate running time 50 minutes |
