Peter's Railway Photos ~
About My Site
My Name is Peter Boggis.
Welcome to My Railway Photo web site.
Yes, I'm interested in railways and also photography.
Together they're a perfect combination for some really good days out.
One of my son's (Benjamin) also share's these interests, and together
we've had some great times visiting Heritage Railways taking pictures
and shooting video. Computers are another of our interests which links
nicely with photo/video editing etc.
Then of course there's the Internet, what a fantastic resource for sharing
your interests with other like-minded people.
I have for some time enjoyed viewing the wealth of railway
photographic material “on-line”.
And am grateful to everyone for sharing it with us over the network.
Benjamin launched his own site at the end of 2002. It was he who inspired
me to build and launch a site of my own, so here we are.
My site contains pictures taken at Heritage Railways, which Ben and
I have visited together over the years, or sometimes on holiday as a
family. All pictures are taken by myself (unless stated otherwise) I
have included some Digicam images taken from my Canon MV500i. Not brilliant
quality, but I do think they capture the atmosphere quite well.
My local Heritage Railway is The North Norfolk Railway, situated of
course on the North Norfolk coast.
This is where I like to spend my free-time taking photographs and generally
enjoying the natural beauty of the area.
The line runs for 5 miles between the seaside town of Sheringham and
the market town of Holt.

Visits to other venues that are navigable from my home page include.
The Mid-Norfolk Railway, The Great Central
and The Severn Valley, which usually involves an annual excursion each
September to experience their excellent Autumn Steam Gala's. Other content
accessible from my home page menu are 'Other
Preserved Railways & events' - 'favourite
images' - 'Arty Farty Stuff'
- 'What's New / recent updates and 'The
Marriott's Way' which describes four cycle rides which my son's
and I enjoyed in the late 1990's, cycling the redundant trackbeds of
the M&GN and GER railways in central Norfolk.
Each one is a reflection of the day including some of the photographs,
which we took along the way.
Any news or updates will be posted on the 'What's new page'.
The site is best viewed at a resolution of 800 x 600
I hope you enjoy your visit. Come back soon
